Brigitte Bardot had already played in 15 movies when she starred in “And God created woman” in 1956. She portrayed an independant modern woman wanting to live her love life freely and this film turned the young French starlet Brigitte Bardot into a worldwide famous actress. From that time, she was considered a fashion icon and remained influent for the next 15 years.

Then Brigitte Bardot supported or launched all kinds of fashion trends until 1973, when she decided to retire from acting at the age of 39.
